Hollywood Chateau tells of the time I stayed at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles when I was 30.

With all expenses paid by my record company, I was free to write songs and hang out by the pool.

All of which might have been forgotten if a book hadn’t been discovered in an attic.

​

In the two years I was there I wrote over a hundred songs (and drank a lot of wine) each one documented in a black sketchbook with the lyrics, a drawing and a wine label.

Forty years later it was exciting to see the book again so I decided

to record some of the songs and call the album Hollywood Chateau.
